Enlightenment Economics is a consultancy specialising in global and technological issues.

Clients include major global corporations and financial institutions, international agencies and voluntary sector organisations. We address the large-scale, long-term issues facing businesses, governments and individuals. Amongst our recent work has been part of the Innovation Index being developed by NESTA.

Diane Coyle chairs the advisory panel of the Vodafone Socio-Economic Impact of Mobiles research programme. Its first two reports were on mobiles in Africa and healthcare. The report (with Nokia and NSN), on mobile transactions in developing countries, was published in July 2007. The latest looks at productivity growth and impact in urban slums in India, and was published early in 2009. Enlightenment Economics has contributed to a report on the use of mobiles in Lebanon in the summer 2006 conflict and prepared a report for the GSM Association on the use of mobiles in disasters and emergencies.
